What Is This Place?

This is a shrine to Team Artail Oekaki, an oekaki board existing around 2004-2013, where budding Sonic fans and furries would draw and interact in a community.

Normal Board Rules (UPDATED August 04 2006!):

- Your drawing must be Sonic/Furry related. Humanized Official Sonic characters are fine.
   Humans with animal bits on, and non-anthro animals do not count.
(Any pictures breaking this rule will be deleted immediatly. If we have to delete 3 pictures by you for this reason, you will get a weeks ban)
- Spend at least 30 minutes on all pictures, including WIP.
   We won't delete any pictures that are undertimed 1-3 minutes as long as there is obvious effort in it.
- Mark bloody and R rated pictures as adult. NC-17 art goes on the adult board.
- Do not bash or flame, or otherwise behave in a disruptive manner.
- No more than 3 pictures a day per board (excl. practice board).
- User created contests are not allowed on this board.
- Attempt to finish WIPs within a day.
- All pictures must have dimensions of at least 200x200 pixels

When to contact an Admin:

- When you have an issue with being copied. Do not attempt to deal with it yourself, you may be at risk of punishment for flaming.
- When chatroom conversations launch into flamewars, are 'trolled' or spammed, or contain overly sexual content (please include a copy of the discussion). New: Please note that the chatroom is shared between all boards, so avoid posting sexual content regardless of which board you are on at the time.
- When you feel another user is harrassing you, or attacking you unfairly through PM.

No, we don't bite. Please be aware that we can't be online 24/7, though, and so it may take a while to get to your PM.

I'm pretty sure my thought process was, "This picture isn't good enough on it's own but I'm bored with it and need to post it, so I'll add something funny to offset that I gave up on this."

I think I particularly enjoyed this artist's work and character at the time. PinkyFreak was a wonderful presence on the board, and this character was a departure from my usual style.

Oh man don't look too hard at this pic or it'll CUT YA 'cause it's so EDGY! I toyed around with Hate having this "demonic" side for a really really long time. Like it was another character that tormented her or something. It had so many spikes, but I do still like the idea of it bleeding all the time.

The boys!! Johnny Mair the goat, and Damien "DJ" Jay the porcupine! I'm actually quite fond of this pic. It's clean and has an interesting (and cathartic to draw) pattern in the background. Johnny's blues are a little harsh here, and for the love of god DJ is purple and acid green. But I love these guys.

Ahhh I'm remembering little things like Johnny's music note earring and that strange symbol I always drew on DJ's shirt!! Aaaaaa!

oh, hello! One of my "was once edgy and is now canonically trans" characters. This is Demun (Very Cool Name) who has since evolved into a very effeminate prince named Koa Jormun, who is female. Also they lost a lot of their spikes in the transition LOL

What's funny is, I brought male-very-spiky Demun to college with me! He was the subject of one of my art projects. I think it was then I learned that wings are hard and spikes aren't good.

Oh! This character doesn't exist any more. Yessej was a character I made for my high-school sweetheart Jessey. He was a demon who sported Jessey's famous pink sweatband and torso moles? Why do I like to reflect moles and freckles on people... Because it's accurate (:

Kit got a little bit of an upgrade! Amazing to see the improvement over previous oekaki submissions. Green characters with red hair... Difficult to pull off. She's pink now. Hahaha!
